Land:Sea Series

This is the series I was making when I became compelled to create the Alabama Project.

The Land:Sea series explores the similarity and ambiguity of cactus and coral structures.  Cactus is a plant; coral, an animal.  They are adapted to radically different environments.  Does this structure relate to function? Fractal patterns in nature can make dissimilar things have similar shapes.  Sometimes this is related to a similar function; other times not.  This relationship of cactus to coral may also be viewed metaphorically:  all creatures, humans included, can be alike even though born or living under vastly different circumstances.
